Romans 10:9-10.”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
The confession of Christ as Lord is the basis of salvation. It is the rock or foundation upon which we build our spiritual lives. Just as Jesus promised, He has built His church on the ROCK of those who confess His Lordship.
Confessing Jesus is positive. The confession of praise, the confession of gratitude, the confession of forgiveness, the confession of mercy, the confession of providence -all of these confessions are recognition of the PRESENCE of God in our lives.
The confession of Jesus is a positive action of faith in God and in Jesus Christ. It is the basis of our Christian walk. Confessing Christ is not the same as soul winning or testifying but is used in both. Soul winning is the deliberate presentation of a revealed pattern of TRUTH. It is presenting scriptures to lead people to the knowledge of Jesus, so they can receive Him as Savior. Testifying is giving a witness to what Christ has done in your life. A testimony is not what leads a person to receive Christ as Savior; although it can be a tool to get him interested. Only the Word will save him. But both are ways in which we confess Christ to others.
When we confess the positive, we charge the atmosphere with the power of God and bring a new ATTITUDE to ourselves and those around us. Who want to be around people who complain all the time? Their words have creative power, and that power fills the atmosphere with the negative. Confessing Christ fills the atmosphere with the positive. We can change the spirit and atmosphere of our HOME or WORKPLACE just by confessing Christ. Keep Christ in your mouth !
Much Love,
Because He is – I am
