Colossians 1:13-14. When we become true believers in Jesus Christ, we have moved out of one kingdom and into another.
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins”.
According to the biblical passage from Colossians, we were under the rule, will, and authority of the king of darkness, the devil, but now we are to be under the rule, will and authority of the Lord Jesus, transported into the kingdom of God. And we come under the rule and authority of Christ by seeking God first in every decision. As we seek obedience to God’s kingdom, the parts of our lives that have been damaged through sin are restored.
But God’s arch enemy, Satan, cannot stand to see God’s children blessed. He knows that the way to hurt God is to hurt His children. Therefore, the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy them. But he can only do so successfully if we do not place our lives constantly under the immediate rule and authority of the Lord Jesus.
We face, we fall, we stumble. The same old flaws and failures seek to pursue us throughout our lifetimes. We can blame bad genetics, dysfunctional families, demented ancestors or even demons and those things can influence our lives, but usually we are our own worst enemies. We sabotage the good that God has for us by removing ourselves from His rule. Most of us want to conquer the sins that “so easily entangle us” (Hebrews 12:11). Therefore, the quicker we come under the power and authority of the Lord Jesus, the more quickly we will see those things fall off so that God restore us to the place where He can use us.
Remember; Seeking First the kingdom is seeking His rule, His will, and His authority in our lives. Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus; than to trust and obey. God wants you to live the abundant life!
Much Love
