“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings”. Psalms 40:1-2
Facing circumstances that we cannot change can cause us to feel like we have fallen into a deep pit and that we cannot climb out. Many people feel trapped in a loveless marriage with an insensitive and uncaring spouse. Others feel trapped in an unsatisfying job that offers no room for advancement. Many young mothers feel trapped by the constant needs for their little ones. Those who suffer physically often feel trapped in painful, limited bodies. Countless multitudes are slaves to the horrible memories of their pasts.
I have good news, “GOD CARES FOR US”. What a comfort and encouragement to know that the Lord thinks about us even if we may be poor and needy. We are in His heart and on His mind. He cares for us, for beyond what we can imagine, and He has a plan for our lives.
Because God cares for us so deeply, we should never hesitate or delay to bring our request-both great and small- to Him. We should never fear to confess our sins to Him, for He is merciful and compassionate. He is our helper and deliverer. When we find ourselves in a pit of despair and trouble, we can call on Him. He loves us and is faithful to us, and He will give us VICTORY as we lean on Him.
Remember, what I Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all cares upon Him; for He careth for you”. Jesus cares for us, because we “Matter to Him”.
Because He is – I am
