The Church of Christ Bible Institute was founded in 1928 by Bishop R.C. Lawson as the educational arm of the newly established Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. The first location was in the Refuge Church of Christ then pastored by our founder, Bishop R.C. Lawson. The Church of Christ Bible Institute served as a vehicle for training many of the pastors and leaders of our organization. Our school is unique in that it was the first Apostolic Bible Institute founded in the Northeast. Our curriculum has always been Bible centered and apostolic. The history of the Institute in many ways parallels that of its parent organization, the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We have grown in enrollment and our curriculum has kept pace with the growing needs of our times, but we have not left our apostolic heritage. Our school offers the unique opportunity for ministers and lay people to study the word of God in a Christian atmosphere with qualified and Spirit -filled instructors. The Church of Christ Bible Institute is located in the heart of the Harlem community, within easy access to all public transportation, public libraries and museums.

W.L. Bonner College was established in 1995, the reality of a dream envisioned in 1945. The initial purpose of the school was to prepare pastors, ministers, and missionaries of the church in the organization to perpetuate its educational and evangelistic ministries. The college now enrolls students regardless of their denomination. The college is currently an affiliate member of the American Association of Biblical Higher Education. It is located in Columbia, South Carolina. W. L. Bonner College has reached a 20-year milestone, where the Founding President has transitioned from labor to reward. The Late President W. L. Bonner, made many sacrifices for the preservation of this institution. It was an exciting time when he cast his vision for an accredited college, to be established in Columbia, South Carolina. The College has trained more than 3,000 serving in full-time and market-place ministries, including those who aspired training as pastors, evangelists, teachers, mission workers, and mentors.
