BALTIMORE, Md. (PRWEB) April 12, 2023 — The 83rd International Congress of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith (COOLJC) will assemble in city of Baltimore, MD April 11–15, 2023. This youth Christian leadership, training and development conference will take place at the Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel, 202 East Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD. Organizers are anticipating up to 3,000 delegates on site and events will be live streamed for worldwide viewing.
This year marks the 83rd staging of the International Congress Conference (iCongress), with the theme Unbreakable: Embracing change and Spiritual Transformation. The four-day event promises to be an exciting encounter and will feature relevant leadership educational sessions, worship services, evangelistic outreach, community service outreach, and social activities structured to equip and empower conference participants. Some of the speakers and musical guests includes Bishop Dr. Kenneth A Kershaw, Superintendent Nathaniel Green, Brad Hamby, Bishop Liston Page, Jr., Bishop Sylvester Reid, Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, Multi-Grammy Nominee Dr. Ricky Dillard and New G and Morgan State University Choir.
COOLJC, based out of New York City, has a large network of 500 established churches worldwide and was founded in 1919 by the late Bishop Robert C. Lawson D.D., LL.D. Now in its 104th year, COOLJC is currently being led by Apostle James I. Maye. The 83rd International Congress is designed to provide a collaborative structure for the Sunday School and Armor Bearers Young Peoples’ Union (ABYPU) programs and activities. The iCongress provides training for current and potential leaders, and develops the total person which enhances Christian fellowship and commitment to Christ.
COOLJC has committed to serving the Baltimore community through outreach activities at McKeldin Plaza Square Harbor during the conference. On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 12 pm, the COOLJC International Women’s Council will be giving out back packs filled with hygiene items and handing out information on important health resources. On, Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9 am until 11 am, clergy members from across the city of Baltimore will assemble with the youth of COOLJC for a city-wide prayer for Baltimore. Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, representing District 10 South Baltimore and Morgan State alum Jessica Greene-Morgan will be present. Together both events at the Baltimore Harbor will cover the entire city in prayer and bring together generations to serve the community.
The event will culminate with a soul-stirring Gospel concert on Saturday evening. Musical guests include award-winning Gospel recording artist Ricky Dillard, musician and songwriter Antwaun Cooks, Tiya Askia, and the COOLJC International Department of Music and Arts. Additional special guests include radio personality Cheryl Jackson. By ending the conference with a high praise, the 83rd International iCongress will surely leave a lasting impact on the city of Baltimore.
